Car Insurance BMW (Car Insurance). NC Yellow Light on bus laws?NC Yellow Light on bus laws? Today, a school bus was driving towards me with it's yellow lights flashing. I kept going in the opposite direction. I really didn't realize I could have been doing anything wrong until I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the bus flashing it's red lights about 5 seconds later. Did I doing something wrong? If I would have stopped when I immediately saw the yellow lights, the bus would have simply passed me and put on it's red lights several feet behind me by that point! Could I get in trouble? Keep in mind, when I passed the bus, it's lights were just yellow- not red. yellow lights are caution lights, and mean pay attention slow down, as soon as the red lights come on, all vehicles in front of, or behind in both directions must stop until the bus driver turns the red lights off. you were fine, the driver yellow lights was to get your attention , the red lights were to stop all traffic. I have to register it as a moped because I dont have a motorcycle license. My issue is that the NJDMV website states that in order to be considered a "Moped" it has to have a top-speed of no more than 25mph but EVERY moped i look at has a top-speed of like 30 mph (even though they are 49cc). Has anyone registered a 49cc Tomas moped in New Jersey as a moped? Also, I asked the guy at the dealership and he said that all of his mopeds are "Legal mopeds" but Im just worried that I wont be able to register it as a moped... car insurance. BMW . How to Replace the Muffler on a Ford TaurusSince the first 1986 model, the Ford Taurus became one of the most popular and most affordable family cars on the road. With its smooth body, often referred to as jellybean-like, it didn't have a grille and offered a mid size available in both a four-door sedan and a station wagon body style depending on your family's needs. You can do much of your own maintenance on the Taurus, like replacing the muffler if it becomes damaged or falls off. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need New or used muffler Car jacks or an old blanket Wrench Sledge hammer Hack saw Trash bag Step by Step : 1 Inspect the underneath of your Ford Taurus towards the rear where the muffler is located. Check for holes, whether large or small, and severe rust spots that are causing holes. Be sure it's still secure and hasn't fallen partially or completely off. 2 Purchase a muffler for a Ford Taurus. It should have a 5-inch inlet/outlet, a 24-inch Body, and be 31 inches long. You can purchase either a new muffler or a used muffler; however, new mufflers are more reliable than used mufflers. Most auto parts stores stock and sell quality mufflers. Make sure you get the correct muffler that corresponds with the year of your truck. You can also consider purchasing a used muffler from a junk yard, but the quality will not be as good or as reliable as a new one. 3 Raise and support your Ford Taurus securely for your own safety. Do this by jacking up the car and placing it on four jack stands. 4 Examine the old muffler. Spray the fasteners generously with a penetrating lubricant before you loosen them. The penetrating lubricant will help you to remove the screws and bolts with ease. Find the muffler hanger brackets and remove the U-bolt assembly and rubber insulators. 5 Remove the old muffler by sliding it rearward to disconnect it. You may have to break the muffler away from the car if it's been welded on. You can use a sledge hammer to do this or saw it off with a hacksaw. 6 Replace the new muffler on your Ford Taurus. Try to line it up as straight as possible with the clamps and slide it on to the flexible, resonator outlet pipe. Be sure the tab on the resonator and the slot in the muffler are fully engaged before tightening the bolts. 7 Re-install the rubber insulators onto the muffler hanger assemblies. Next, you'll tighten the U-bolt to 26-33 ft-lb torque. Be sure it's tight enough not to work loose, but not so tight it doesn't have any give. 8 Remove the jack stands and lower the car. Start the engine and check the new muffler for any leaks or loud sounds. If there are any, then you may need to tighten the clamps some more. Tips & Warnings Always dispose of the old muffler properly by breaking it down into small parts. Put the small parts in a trash bag and throw away. BMW . How to Replace the Muffler on a Dodge RamAlthough Dodge has been producing pickup trucks since 1917, the famous Ram name wasn't attached until 1981. The Dodge Ram has come with variety of bed and cab configurations, but remains one of the toughest trucks on the market. When you start hearing noises coming from the rear of the truck while driving, however, it might be time for a new muffler. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need New or used muffler Penetrating spray lubricant Crescent wrench Sledge hammer Step by Step : 1 Crawl underneath your Dodge Ram at the rear of the truck to inspect your muffler. See if you can spot any holes or severe rust spots causing holes, or loose hangers. This lets you know if you need a new muffler. 2 Purchase a muffler for a Dodge Ram. Most auto parts stores stock and sell quality mufflers. Make sure you get the correct muffler that corresponds with the year of your truck. You can also consider purchasing a used muffler from a junk yard, but the quality will not be as good or as reliable as a new one. 3 Jack up the truck and place it on four jack stands if possible. Although you tend to have a lot of room underneath a Dodge Ram, the clearance needed for pipes when removing and installing a muffler is sometimes more than what's available when the truck is on the ground. 4 Spray the fasteners holding the muffler to the truck generously with a penetrating lubricant before you loosen them. The penetrating lubricant will help you to remove the screws and bolts with ease. 5 Remove the old muffler by removing the nuts from the U-bolts that hold the muffler in place. Don't be surprised if the bolts break due to rust and/or age. You should never reuse these bolts, so even if they don't break, replace them all. 6 Replace the new muffler on your Dodge Ram Truck. Line it up as straight as possible with the clamps and then tighten the bolts to hold it in place. Make sure you connect the muffler with the muffler hangers that come with it and use only parts designed for your truck. Tighten all bolts securely, but not so tight the muffler doesn't have any give during regular driving. 7 Start the engine and check the new muffler for any leaks or loud sounds. If there are any, then you may need to tighten the clamps more. Tips & Warnings Write down the mileage and date of the muffler change and keep this information with the muffler warranty. You may need it for future reference if the muffler breaks or malfunctions. If your muffler is welded in place instead of using a clamp system, you may have to use a hacksaw to cut it off or may be able to break it free with a sledge hammer if it's rusted up and already partially loose. *Pay attention to leaks. If you keep losing air in your tires, have your local service station check them for leaks. Sometimes an ill-fitting rim causes a leak. The garage has a machine that can fix this problem easily. If the garage can't find a leak, your rims fit properly, and you're still losing air, you probably have a faulty tire valve that's allowing air to escape. You can buy tire valves to replace the ones on your car. Look for the number molded into the base of the tire valves; then buy new ones that match it. Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System In the process of replacing the valve, you will lose most of the air from the tire, so either plan to do this job at a gas station where you can have access to an air hose, or have a mechanic replace the valve for you.
